On September 30, the validity of Student Cards expires, which allow people attending primary schools to travel free of charge by public transport. It can be extended by completing the application on the website. The link is provided by the school the student attends. The procedure for making a card for people starting learning is similar.
Students from Warsaw primary schools and those who study in the towns neighboring the capital city from 2017 do not have to pay for journeys by Warsaw Public Transport. All thanks to the authorizations, the confirmation of which is the Student Card issued by the ZTM. Thanks to it, students can travel free of charge in both ticket zones and – as part of the “Common ZTM-KM-WKD ticket” offer – on trains of Koleje Mazowieckie and Warsaw Commuter Railway.
Warsaw Student Card – how to extend its validity?
You can extend the validity of the card, which expires on September 30, by completing the application on the website. The link to it is provided by the school attended by the student. The procedure for making a card for people starting learning is similar.
To submit an application, you need a recent ID photo of the child in portrait orientation on a uniform, light background. The photo should be in JPG or PNG format – with a minimum resolution of 200 × 259 pixels – and the file size must not exceed 2 MB. Persons extending the validity must additionally prepare the number of the current Student Charter. Confirmation of submitting the application will be sent to you by e-mail, and the completed card can be picked up at the school.
If the child lives in Warsaw, but starts or continues education in a town adjacent to the capital city, the card can be issued – or its validity extended – at the Passenger Service Center.
Detailed information on the Student Charter for first graders and the exchange of cards issued in 2017 are available in the Warsaw City Card / Student Card tab.
