The escalators at the Centrum metro station will be renovated. The works have been divided into stages, the first one will start on July 24.
The city hall explained that fewer people use public transport during the holidays, so Metro Warszawskie uses this time to carry out repairs at stations. An operation of this type will be the renovation of the worn-out escalators at the Centrum station. The work was divided into four stages.
In the first one, from July 24 to August 7, the escalators (located next to the toilet) leading from the mezzanine to the so-called “pan” at the Dmowskiego roundabout, as well as one passage leading from the platform towards Kabaty to the “pan” will be disabled.
In the next stage, from 7 to 21 August, two routes will be switched off: one leading to the “frying pan” from each of the platforms. Then, from August 21 to September 4, the next two routes will be switched off: one leading to the “frying pan” from each of the platforms.
From September 4 to 11, in the last stage, the last line for the “frying pan” from the platform towards Młociny will be turned off, as well as the one leading from the mezzanine to the top – at the level of Plac Defilad.
