Warsaw. Road workers sell abandoned cars. Pink Chrysler for sale

Road experts explain that cars that have been towed because of a parking ban are not subject to sale. Cars removed from the streets – without license plates or whose condition indicated that they were not used – are going under the hammer.

Such cars are removed at the request of the city guard or police and are placed in the parking lots of companies with which road builders have signed appropriate contracts. There they wait for the owner or the person authorized to collect them. If no one claims the cars within six months, they become the property of the city by operation of law.

Road workers informed that all vehicles can be inspected on October 26 and 31 at 10, 11, 12 and 1 p.m. at the ZDM parking lot located at 7 Gołdapska Street in Warsaw (Białołęka district). Viewers will be allowed into the parking lot at regular hours. You do not need to make an appointment to view the cars.

In the upcoming tender, 48 cars were put up for sale, including: Audi 100, BMW X5, Hyundai Santa Fe, Opel Movano, Saab 93. There is also a Chrysler covered in roses, which has gained the sympathy of Internet users. Under the post informing about the tender, there was a proposal for road workers to use it to control the paid parking zone.

This is another tender announced by the Municipal Roads Authority. In the fall of 2021, the first sale of such vehicles was announced – the list included eight cars, of which seven went to new owners. They were sold for PLN 92,000. 700 PLN. In 2022, a total of 57 cars were put up for sale through the tender procedure. 45 found new buyers for PLN 364.6 thousand. zloty. This amount is sufficient to renovate approximately 300 meters of the road.

In March 2023, another procedure was announced. The list included 77 cars, including four that were exhibited again, as well as a motorcycle. Ultimately, 59 cars and a motorcycle found new owners. All of them have already been received. Thanks to this, the city coffers received over PLN 400,000. zloty.

In June 2023, 31 of 46 vehicles were sold – 30 cars and a scooter. Thanks to the sale, the city budget received almost PLN 236,000. PLN, including PLN 37 thousand PLN for the BMW 5 Series, which was the most expensive car sold in this tender.

“We have already obtained over a million zlotys in all auctions so far! The city will be able to use this money for the modernization of infrastructure and the development of public transport,” said the road workers.
