“Spring oh it's you!” is the motto of this year's Saska Kępa Festival. The event will take place on Saturday, May 25. There will be a traditional parade and artists will sing on stage. Francuska Street will be closed to traffic, and there will be parking restrictions. Buses will take detours.

Neighborhood meetings, an artistic handicraft fair, a breakfast market and concerts of stars of the Polish music scene. These are elements of the program of this year's Saska Kępa Festival. It will take place on Francuska Street.

– We will start at 2.00 p.m. with a traditional, colorful procession that will start from Obrońców Street, from the monument of the patron saint of Saska Kępa, Agnieszka Osiecka – announces the Mayor of Praga-Południe, Tomasz Kucharski, quoted in the release. – It will be led by Sambor Dudziński. He is a unique artist who created a vehicle called a sound binder – adds Maria Juszczyk, director of PROM Kultury Saska Kępa. -He is a composer, vocalist, musically he will lead the parade with choreography and arrangement of the Sztuka Ciała Theater – he specifies.

The celebrations will be accompanied by concerts. Eight concerts will be held on two stages. The first concert will be played by a dozen-strong wind instrument ensemble associated with Sinfonia Varsovia. These will be film music hits. After him will perform: Vavamuffin and Pablo Pavo, associated with Saska Kępa. Then Staszek Soyka will appear on stage with the participation of the Grott Orchestra, it will be a concert titled “Soul”. The artist's well-known songs will be heard in new arrangements. According to the district office, the culmination of the concerts on the big stage will be a performance by the group T.Love with Muniek Staszczyk.

The Sound and Grace choir, which has been performing on stage for over a dozen years, will begin its performances on a small stage. Then Sambor Dudziński will perform at the Agnieszka Osiecka monument. Jucho, i.e. Justyna Chowaniak, known from the album “Home Songs”, will also perform on the small stage.

Attractions for residents and guests will be available until 10 p.m.

Francuska Street closed, stopping prohibited

The event will cause disruptions. From Friday from 6 p.m. to Sunday until 12 p.m., due to the celebration of Saska Kępa Day, Francuska Street will be closed to road traffic between Zwycięzców and the Washington Roundabout. Zwycięzców and Walecznych streets will remain passable at all times.

Two-way traffic will be introduced on some surrounding streets and stopping will be prohibited. The changes will concern Lipska – from Finlandzka to the side road of Aleja WAWA; Berezyńska – from Gruzińska to the side road of Aleja Washington; Gruzińska – between Walecznych and Berezyńska; Valorous – from Katowicka to Nobel and Defenders – from Poselska to Queen Aldona.

“Buses of lines 117, 138, 146 and 147 will be diverted to detour routes (in both directions). From the Washington roundabout they will go to Saska and then to their regular routes: 117 and 146 via Zwycięzców and Paryska streets, 138 Zwycięzców and Wał Miedzeszyński and 147 Egyptian” – said the Public Transport Authority.
