Police officers from the Warsaw river police station pulled a 62-year-old woman from the Vistula River. In order not to drown, the woman held on to the log. She was exhausted and cold.

– On Tuesday, around 20.15, the river patrol received a report from the duty officer about a man in the water between the GdaƄski and Grota-Roweckiego bridges. Police officers immediately swam to the site – said Aleksandra Wasiak from the river police station.

The policewoman added that at the scene they saw a log and behind it a woman who occasionally submerged her head.

– They took the woman from the water. The 62-year-old was clearly exhausted and chilled. She smelled of alcohol, Wasiak said. The woman explained that she had slid down the escarpment, but she did not remember where.
