Police officers from Warsaw's Wola district have detained an 18-year-old woman suspected of attempted fraud. “Using different information, she received a package with cosmetics and then filed a complaint to return the value of the package,” explains Senior Inspector Marta Sulowska, spokeswoman for the Wola police station.
Police officers from Wola were working to establish the circumstances of a case concerning attempted fraud. It concerned a complaint about an undelivered courier package with cosmetics worth over two thousand złoty. – Initial circumstances indicated that the package was received by a woman who provided different information. Two days later, the courier company received a complaint about the package not having arrived – says Senior Inspector Sulowska.
She received the package but demanded a refund
It turned out that the buyer had received the package with the cosmetics, but still intended to obtain a refund for the shipping cost in the amount of two thousand zlotys.
– The 18-year-old was detained and taken to the police station. After collecting evidence, the suspect was charged with attempted fraud, which is punishable by up to eight years in prison. The proceedings in the case are supervised by the District Prosecutor's Office of Warsaw-Wola in Warsaw – the policewoman summed up.
