Up to 10 years in prison is threatening a 32-year-old detained by policemen from Ursus. The man was supposed to break into a grocery store in the neighborhood. When the policemen arrived at the scene, the suspect tried to escape from the store through the roof.

Police officers from Ursus received a report a few days ago about a night break-in at a grocery store on Wojciechowskiego Street. – After arriving at the place, the uniform found the reporting person who stated that the alarm system detects movement inside the store – said Karol Cebula, spokesman for the Warsaw III District Police Headquarters.

– Officers checked all doors and windows of the building that were not damaged. At one point, the policemen noticed a man inside the store who said that it was he who broke in – he noted.

After the detention, the 32-year-old was detained and taken to the police station in Ursus. During the interrogation, he admitted that he tried to escape from the store through the roof in front of the police.

Prosecutor’s office: The 32-year-old acted under conditions of recidivism

A spokeswoman for the District Prosecutor’s Office in Warsaw, Aleksandra Skrzyniarz, informed that the 32-year-old had heard allegations of attempted burglary and destruction of property worth PLN 4.5 thousand. The man committed these acts under the conditions of recidivism.

– The prosecutor applied a preventive measure against the 32-year-old in the form of police supervision – added the prosecutor.
