The Warsaw Infertility Treatment Center received financing from the state budget. This is the result of the amendment to the in vitro financing act passed by the Sejm in November last year.

“I can officially announce: Warsaw Infertility Treatment Center at the Southern Hospital has just won the government competition for co-financing infertility treatment,” the mayor of Warsaw, Rafał Trzaskowski, announced on social media.

He noted that the WCLN at the Southern Hospital is the first facility run by the local government that carries out fully reimbursed in vitro procedures and provides free, comprehensive care to mothers and their children at every stage. Starting with the care of a pregnant woman, through antenatal classes, childbirth, intradural anesthesia, and, if necessary, also newborn care in the neonatology department.

“Thanks Almost 2,500 babies have already been born in the Warsaw in vitro program. And thanks to the support of WCLN and government funding, we will see many more little Warsaw girls and women live, and we will help many future parents fulfill their dreams,” Trzaskowski wrote.

The Southern Hospital, home to the Warsaw Infertility Treatment Center, also announced the financing.

“Our hospital won the competition for co-financing infertility treatment. We would like to thank the Ministry of Health and the Capital City of Warsaw for their trust, thanks to which we will be able to develop the Warsaw Infertility Treatment Center more dynamically. We are convinced that together with our staff of specialists, WCLN will fulfill many dreams of future parents. Coming soon a full in vitro reimbursement program will be launched – it was written on the hospital profile.

Amendment to the Act

The amendment to the Act on in vitro financing was adopted by the Sejm on November 29 last year. According to the current government's plans, from June 1 this year, financing for infertility treatment, including in vitro fertilization, is to come from the state budget. PLN 500 million will be allocated for this purpose.
