Police officers from Śródmieście detained a man who stole keys from a food truck, took a safe, cash and two Tasers. He also threatened to kill a witness who chased after him. The 34-year-old was arrested.
Robert Szumiata from the downtown police station said that the incident took place at Boulevard Grzymała Siedleckiego. The 34-year-old first broke into an office container, from where he stole, among other things, keys to a food truck and a safe. Then he opened the car and stole a safe, cash from the proceeds and equipment used to incapacitate people in the form of two tasers.
The burglar was spotted by a witness who gave chase. The 34-year-old stopped and threatened the man that he would first beat him and then kill him. The perpetrator escaped with the loot.
The prosecutor’s office charged the suspect with burglary and making criminal threats, for which the Penal Code provides for up to 10 years’ imprisonment. At the request of the prosecutor’s office, the court has already decided to temporarily arrest the 34-year-old for three months.
