Warsaw. Syrians detained by border guards on S8 apply for international protection

Four Syrians detained by the border guard on the S8 route applied for international protection in Poland. The border guard is still looking for a person who escaped from the car during the intervention of the services.

– In relation to four citizens of Syria detained on November 4 on the S8 route in Warsaw, preparatory proceedings were initiated for the acts described in article 264 paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code – we were informed by Major Krzysztof Grzech from the Nadwiślański Border Guard Unit.

The indicated article says that a person who violates the border of the Republic of Poland, uses violence, threats, deception or in cooperation with other persons, is punishable by up to three years in prison.

As Grzech adds, the commander of the Border Guard Post in Warsaw initiated proceedings to oblige four men to return. – Syrians have submitted applications for international protection and are under the supervision of border guards – he emphasizes.

They stopped a car with migrants, one person escaped

We previously informed about the intervention on the S8 route on tvnwarszawa.pl. An unmarked border guard patrol noticed a car with German license plates, because there were several people inside and the driver was speeding. The detainment took place on the expressway section between Maczka Street and Prymasa Tysiąclecia Avenue, on the road towards Poznań.

As we reported, during the intervention of the border guard, one person fled the scene. It is still wanted by the services. This is the likely driver.

Four men in their 20s were detained.
