On Friday evening there was a fire in a newly built block of flats in Targówek. The fire department reports that part of the roof burned down. High puffs of black smoke rose above the building. Residents of other parts of the capital also noticed them.
Firefighters intervened at Bukowiecka Street in a recently built block of flats in the Wilno estate. – There is a fire on the roof sheathing. About 40 square meters were burned. Six fire brigades were ordered on the spot – informs Szymon Kisieliński from the Municipal Headquarters of the State Fire Service. And he adds that no one was harmed.
Tvnwarszawa.pl reporter Tomasz Zieliński reports that the fire has already been contained. – The fire took up a large part of the roof. It is a newly built building in the Wilno estate, waiting for its tenants. The extinguishing process is in progress, firefighters are pouring over the site of the fire, throwing the burnt elements down. They work in oxygen apparatuses. There is also a fire engine with a lift on site – says our reporter.
He also describes that the last roofing work was probably still going on on the roof and that you can see materials such as polystyrene or roofing felt there.
During the fire, clouds of black smoke rose high above the block, which could also be observed from parts of the city several kilometers away.
