Warsaw. The car fell from the viaduct onto the tram tracks in Kasprzaka

A passenger car broke through the barriers of the viaduct over the new tram line on Kasprzaka and fell onto the tracks. Firefighters intervened on site. – There was no driver on site – they said.

The incident occurred late Thursday evening near the intersection of Wolska and Redutowa. The fire brigade was notified around 11:30 p.m.

– Two of our teams were dispatched to the site. The report concerned a car that fell from a viaduct onto a new tram line. The vehicle was on the track below road level. There was no driver on site, said Wojciech Kapczyński from the City Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Warsaw. – Our actions consisted of securing the scene of the incident and preventing the leakage of fuel and operating fluids from the damaged vehicle – said the firefighter.

During the emergency services, tram traffic was shut down. The vehicle was towed to a nearby tram stop. Meanwhile, the Warsaw Tram services repaired the damaged infrastructure. – Our activities ended a few minutes before one o’clock. The police remained on site and carried out their duties, Kapczyński added.

The tram route on which the car fell was opened only three days ago.
