Żerański Park will be built on the western embankment of the Żerański Canal – from Modlińska Street to Płochocińska Street. The contract with the contractor has already been signed. Work will start in November. It will be the only park in the capital with a shoreline available to residents.
“We have just signed an investment implementation contract with Inmel,” informed the Warsaw Green Area Management Board.
The 13-hectare Żerański Park will be built in Białołęka, on the western embankment of the Żerański Canal – from ul. Modlińska to ul. Płochocińska. The work was divided into two stages.
Trees, bushes, meadows…
In the first stage, almost 500 trees, over 1,000 shrubs and over 36,000 perennials will be planted. Meadows and grasslands will be created on an area of over 44,000 square meters, and lawns on another seven thousand square meters. You will be able to relax on recreational clearings with platforms and shelters, and use the new network of pedestrian and bicycle paths. A rope park will be created with younger Warsaw residents in mind. As part of this stage of work, the park will also include, among others: first piers.
The first stage of work is scheduled to be completed in early 2025. In the same year, the second stage will begin, during which the waterfront will be made more attractive – additional piers will be built.
The investment will be implemented on the basis of documentation prepared by TopoScape and Archigrest design offices.
The cost of the basic scope of work in the park is PLN 44 million.
“If additional funds are obtained, it will also be possible to build additional elements there: including playgrounds, additional piers and greenery, dog zones and catering pavilions,” added the Green Management Board’s announcement.
