Warsaw. The court extended the detention of “Słowik”, “Wańka” and “Parasol”

The court decided to extend the pre-trial detention of a total of 19 suspects in an investigation into organized crime groups involved in drug and criminal offences. Among those arrested are board members of the so-called of the old Pruszkow group, including Andrzej Z. “Słowik”, Janusz P. “Umbrella” and Leszek D. “Wanka”.

In November last year, at the request of the Mazovian Branch of the Department for Organized Crime and Corruption of the National Prosecutor’s Office in Warsaw, officers of the Central Investigation Bureau of the Police 22 people were arrested in the investigation of organized crime groups involved in drug and criminal offences. At that time, the prosecutor filed motions for pre-trial detention against 21 persons, who were accepted by the court. As PAP learned, the detention of the detainees has been extended.

“At the request of the Mazowiecki Branch of the Department for Organized Crime and Corruption of the National Prosecutor’s Office in Warsaw, the court extended the application of the preventive measure in the form of pre-trial detention against 19 suspects, including Andrzej Z. aka Słowik, Leszek D. aka Wańka, Janusz P. alias Umbrella, the National Prosecutor’s Office informed PAP on Friday.

During the November detention, apart from Andrzej Z. ps. Nightingale, Leszek D. ps. Wańka, Janusz P. ps. Umbrella also detained Mirosław B. ps. Dziobak, Zbigniew R. ps. Elephant, Paweł M., Piotr Dz., Artur K. ps. Kisiel, Luciana D. ps. Lolek, Rafał Sz. Ps. Piżmak, Artur P. ps. Professor, Sławomir N. ps. Niewier, Mirosława W. ps. Mieczysław, Artur K., as well as attorney Przemysław W. “During the searches, police officers seized 0.5 kg of marijuana and a firearm in the form of a Browning pistol” – informed PK.

Allegations of participation in an organized criminal group

She added that the Prosecutor of the Mazowieckie Branch of the Department for Organized Crime and Corruption of the National Prosecutor’s Office in Warsaw charged “Słowik”, “Wańka” and “Parasol” with participation in an organized criminal group aimed at trafficking in cocaine, trading in large amounts of drugs in the form of 35 kilograms of cocaine with a black market value of approx. PLN 5 million. The acts alleged against the suspects are punishable by up to 18 years in prison.

The prosecutor also presented charges to attorney Przemysław W. regarding persuading a witness to give false testimony in a trial conducted before the District Court in Szczecin. This act is punishable by up to 8 years in prison.

In addition, the prosecutor charged the other detainees with, inter alia, participation in organized criminal groups, including armed ones. Rafał B. ps. Platypus was charged with leading an organized criminal group of an armed nature. The acts covered by the allegations also concern robberies with the use of dangerous objects, including knives and firearms.

“During the robberies, they took cash and gold jewelry”

“During the robberies, the suspects took, among others, money in cash, gold jewelry worth from several to several thousand zlotys. Some people are suspected of possessing, without the required permit, a total of several firearms in the form of, among others, submachine guns and explosives in the form of grants,” PK reported. Other allegations concern trafficking in significant amounts of drugs in the form of amphetamine, marijuana and cocaine. The acts alleged against the suspects are punishable by up to 15 years in prison.

The groups operated mainly in the province of Zachodniopomorskie and Mazowieckie, but also in Scandinavia, Germany and the Netherlands.
