On Thursday, a dangerous incident occurred on the downtown section of Wisłostrada. One of the drivers was driving against traffic on this very busy road. The situation was captured on a car camera by one of the witnesses.

We received information and footage from the scene of the incident Contact24.

The author of the recording, Mr. Marek, said that the situation took place today after 11 a.m. – There was quite a lot of traffic and suddenly I noticed that the cars started to slow down, then on the left I saw this car driving against traffic in the left lane. I have no idea how he got there, because there is only a slope in this place, I didn't see the moment when he drove against the flow – he explained.

“He didn't look nervous.”

– I suspect he had to get out of there somehow before he entered the tunnel, but I don't know that for sure either. I saw him only for a moment, when I was passing him I looked at the driver and saw a very old man, but he didn't look nervous. He looked ahead, not looking to the sides, he just drove. Most drivers simply slowed down, I didn't even hear anyone honking at him – he described the situation.

The man admitted that he did not report the matter to the police. – I didn't see any services nearby, I don't know if anyone informed them about this situation – he added.

What to do if we drive against the flow?

“If we still have a choice, let's take the correct road,” road engineers advise. If this is not possible, stop immediately in a safe place – preferably in the emergency lane and turn on the hazard warning lights. “Then, with extreme caution, leave the vehicle and, if possible, hide behind a protective barrier. The next action should be to notify the road service or the police,” they explain. Under no circumstances should you attempt to make a U-turn yourself. “This poses an additional threat to ourselves and other road users. Such maneuvers may end tragically,” it was emphasized.
