Mama Nurogeś with 17 toddlers moved from Łazienki to the Vistula – informed the Warsaw Green Board. This is the first march of the Nurogęsi family this season. As noted, despite many obstacles, the Nurogęsi coped perfectly.
It was added that despite the bad weather, renovation on Czerniakowska Street, peak hours and crowds gathering at the Legia Warsaw match, Nurogeś did very well.
Record a lot of chicks
The volunteer coordinator on the Green Board Stefan Bobrowski pointed out that the Thursday crossing was record -breaking. There were 18 chicks first, but one disconnected and went to the bird asylum.
He said that one chick did not bode well from the beginning.
– We work with royal bathrooms, where there is facilities and a person who knew on birds, so we could give the Pikclak first aid. The Picklak came to life, but unfortunately the mother did not want to accept it. That's why he went to asylum – he said.

He added that this year there are 25 volunteers who walk three times a day around the Piaseczyński channel and pond in Łazienki to see the mother with the young as early as possible. Gardeners in Royal Łazienki and the guards who are there were also trained.
He emphasized that the point was to “catch” the mother as soon as possible so that the action could be carried out as best as possible.
An additional group of employees of the Green Board was also trained from traffic management. They work with the police and the city guard.
The picnic will be crucial
This year, the eastern road is being renovated ul. Czerniakowska, which is undergoing Nurogęsi. Employees of the Road Renovation and Maintenance Department are arranging new curbs on the duck crossing route, and also temporarily covered some of the curbs to ensure a safe passage to the birds.
– The picnic will be the key when the street milling will take place. We are ready for this – Bobrowski emphasized.
He noted that you never know how many families he will pass. He also said that in July the storm knocked down a lot of trees in bathrooms, and they were trees where they hatch in the nests of Nurogęsi.
– Nature is unpredictable, we do not know what awaits us and how much the burn is this year – he added.
Every year in April and May, the Nurogęsi family from the Royal Łazienki Piaseczyński Canal, ul. Myśliwiecka and Czerniakowska are going to the Czerniakowski port.

Nurogęsi are protected within the Natura 2000 area of the Central Vistula Valley. In Warsaw, they nest almost exclusively in Królewskie Łazienki and the surrounding area, despite the fact that Nurogyś does not belong to park species, and the park is away from the Vistula.
Before the birds move to the riverbed, they inhabit the hollow of trees. They feed mainly on fish, which they lack in park tanks and channels. Therefore, immediately after hatching, mother's chicks lead them to the Vistula. In the water, mothers transport young on the back. In this way, they protect them from dangers, but also oil them with their secretions from the co -gland, protecting the chicks against soaking.
