On Friday, December 1, the first ice rinks in the capital will open – in Moczydło and Stegny. On Mikołajki, another one – in front of the Palace of Culture and Science and on the Old Town Square. The city also prepares many other winter attractions, including summer camps.
– Frosty days are starting, so we are launching winter attractions in the city. On December 1, we will open the first ice rinks for active Warsaw residents. We will soon meet winter in Warsaw on Górka Szczęśliwicka or during the Run with Santa Claus. Let’s be healthy and active all year round, and let’s use winter to harden – Renata Kaznowska, vice-president of Warsaw, encourages us to take advantage of the charms of winter.

The season on Górka Szczęśliwicka (skiing, snowboarding) is already underway. For now, you can ride the needle. Snowmaking will only be possible when the weather conditions allow it.
Szczęśliwice is the only ski slope in Warsaw and a suitable place to spend active time in the capital. A chairlift takes skiers to the top – in addition, from the top of the hill there is a view of a large part of Warsaw. The facility has an equipment rental and a restaurant.
Sports summer camps during the holidays
Capital Sports Center “Active Warsaw” offers children two sports summer camps on: January 15-19, 2024; January 22-26, 2024
The summer camp includes groups of 15 people and sports activities, e.g. learning to ski on Górka Szczęśliwicka and using other Active Centers in Warsaw (e.g. ice skating, sports activities). Cost of one session: PLN 800 per child.
Run with Santa
Next Saturday, December 9, the second edition of the Run with Santa Claus will take place in the Kabacki Forest. A year ago, many participants started in Christmas-themed costumes.
The event is organized in cooperation with the City Forests of Warsaw. Participation is free, but the number of places is limited. Registration for this year’s race has already ended – places were sold out 37 minutes after the registration announcement. The organizers of the run still invite you to support them and invite the youngest to participate in educational workshops conducted by the City Forests.
