Warsaw. The heating pipe in Wola burst. The hole in the ground is several meters long

There was a serious heating failure at Brożka Street in Wola. The building’s power line broke. The residents of the block were evacuated. At the site of the spill, a hole with a diameter of several meters was created.

– We received a report after 2 pm about a hot water leak. When we arrived at the site, there was a hole in the pavement about five meters in diameter, hot water was coming out of it. The gap widened. Firefighters have secured the site and are still pumping out water – said Krzysztof Kosecki from the Municipal Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Warsaw.

He added that due to the fact that the water washed away the block, firefighters took out more than 30 people. “Earlier, a group of residents left the building on their own,” he added.

After 7 p.m., Kosecki reported that there was another troop on site. – The water in the basement of the building is being pumped out – said the fireman.

Heating pipe burst

Mateusz Witczyński, spokesman for the Wola district office, explained that at ul. Brożka 2A, the heating pipe supplying the building was broken. Rescue services stopped the flow of water and disconnected the remaining utilities for the duration of the rescue operation.

Witczyński informed that employees of the Poviat Building Supervision Inspector and the building administration are on site. – There are also representatives of the city and district of Wola who offer assistance to residents waiting for a decision on their real estate – he announced.

“The structure of the building was not affected”

For residents who need a place to stay until the services are completed, the district has made available spaces at school 388 at ul. Deotymy 25. City representatives are ready to provide accommodation, hot drinks and meals if a quick return to the apartments is not possible.

– According to the currently available information, the structure of the building has not been damaged. However, there is no information on how much time the administrator will need to restore the media – indicated the spokesman for Wola.

The building at Brożka 2A has 50 premises, it is administered by a housing association and managed by ARomex Sp. z o. o
