– We will field our own electoral committee – said Left MP Anna Maria Żukowska in “Kropka nad i” on TVN24, when asked whether her party would support Rafał Trzaskowski in the elections for the president of Warsaw. In turn, Joanna Mucha from Trzecia Droga said that the decision had not been made in her party yet.
One of the topics discussed Wednesday’s edition of “Kropka nad i” featured local elections. Monika Olejnik asked whether the Left and Third Road would support Rafał Trzaskowski in the elections for the mayor of Warsaw. Left MP Anna Maria Żukowska denied it. – We will field our own election committee with our own candidate or candidate for president – announced Żukowska.
Joanna Mucha, an MP from Trzecia Droga, replied that talks on this subject were ongoing among the group’s management board. – I would not like to be the person who goes out of my way to announce the results of these talks – she said. – We have a candidate who, in my opinion, is a person who should be presented to the public. However, will this be the case? We’ll see, Mucha added.
Razem and Miasto Jest Nasze join forces
The Left Razem party and the Miasto Jest Nasz association announced on Monday joint start in the upcoming local government elections. The announcement was confirmed by a pact called “Dream about Warsaw”. During Monday’s conference, it was not announced who would run for president of the city. Unofficially, it is said that it may be Jan Mencwel, one of the leaders of MJN.
The local elections will be held on April 7. The second round of elections for communes, mayors and city presidents is to be held two weeks later. At the moment, the only certain candidate who will run for the mayor of Warsaw is Rafał Trzaskowski.
