A motorcycle was on fire near the Siekierkowski Bridge. Its driver fell on a curve in the road, which probably caused the fuel to ignite. The motorcyclist suffered burns. Employees from a nearby workshop helped extinguish the vehicle.

The incident took place at the intersection of Gościniec and Polska streets. Tomasz Zieliński, a reporter for tvnwarszawa.pl, was on site.

– The motorcyclist was riding alone and overturned on a curve in the road. The gasoline ignited immediately. Initially, the vehicle was extinguished by employees from a nearby mechanical workshop. Then firefighters arrived and extinguished the engine, pouring water over it. The motorcyclist suffered burns and is being examined in an ambulance – our reporter found out. He added that the fire brigade, police and ambulance were working at the site. There were minor disruptions at the intersection.

We asked the fire brigade about the incident. – A motorcyclist on a curve fell off the road, fell and was injured. An ambulance crew is on site. Our three teams are securing the scene of the incident, said Senior Aspirant Bogdan Smoter from the Warsaw Fire Brigade.

Close to permille of alcohol

– The incident took place before 2 p.m. Currently, we have information that the motorcycle driver fell over. Preliminary findings show that it did not collide with another vehicle and did not hit any road infrastructure. We will continue to clarify the circumstances, said Gabriela Putyra from the press team of the Warsaw Police Headquarters. The policewoman added that the driver was taken to hospital for further tests.

As it turned out, the motorcyclist was drunk. – The test performed by the police showed almost per mille of alcohol in his body – concluded Putyra.
