On February 15, Colonel Kazimierz Klimczak “Szron” celebrates his 109th birthday. According to the Warsaw Uprising Museum, Mr. Kazimierz is the oldest insurgent. “A man with a big heart and a great patriot” – museologists characterize “Szrona”.

“Mr. Kazimierz, on your 109th birthday, please accept my thanks for your service and wishes for 200 years in the best health!” – we read in the social media of the Warsaw Uprising Museum.

Kazimierz Klimczak “Frost” was born on February 15, 1914 in Ciepłów. He graduated from the Infantry NCO School for Minors No. 1 in Konin. He served in the Polish Army from 1936. A soldier of the September Campaign, an insurgent in Warsaw, after the war, an activist of the Polish War Disabled Association. In 2017, he was promoted to the rank of colonel. He was awarded, among others, Officer’s and Knight’s Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta.
