The Road Traffic Department of the Warsaw Police Headquarters selected three streets, where pedestrians often occur. The officers announce that they will supervise traffic in these places and respond to violations of the regulations.
Policemen from KSP informed in Tuesday's announcement that they implement “a program to improve pedestrian safety at the area of the Warsaw Police Headquarters for 2024-2026”. As part of these activities, they selected three road sections, where pedestrian safety is particularly at risk. The officers indicate that these are:
– Avenue of “Solidarity” on the section from Okopowa to Targowa; – Aleje Jerozolimskie from the de Gaulle roundabout to the Siberian Exile roundabout; – ul. Powstańców Śląskich from ul. Piastów Śląskie to ul. Połczyńska.

57 accidents, six victims
“In these places, in previous years, there were many tragic road accidents involving pedestrians. In total, there were 57 accidents on these sections, as a result of which six people were killed and 51 were injured. There are also 49 collisions with pedestrians” – says KSP.
“Policemen of the Warsaw road will supervise traffic on designated dangerous sections, responding to all violations of traffic rules” – announce officers.
Policemen emphasize that many accidents involving pedestrians result from insufficient caution of drivers who do not comply with the rules. The most common offenses against pedestrians include: failure to see pedestrians at the crossing, incorrect overtaking in the area of pedestrian crossings and bypassing another vehicle that stopped before “zebra”.
