The police were looking for a man who withdrew a large sum of cash from “criminal activities” in Galeria Mokotów. The wanted man turned himself in to the police station and claimed that he “just wanted to help his friend.” He will be charged with stolen goods.

Police officers from the department for combating crime against property of the Warsaw II District Police Headquarters are conducting proceedings in the case of stolen goods, i.e. Art. 291 of the Penal Code. They were looking for the perpetrator and published the image of the person suspected of this act.

He reported to the police station himself

According to the police, on September 20, 2024, the suspect withdrew cash – PLN 19,550 – from an ATM located in the Westfield Mokotów shopping center. – He withdrew the money that was transferred to the bank account through criminal activities – emphasized Commissioner Ewa Kołdys from the Warsaw II District Police Headquarters.

A few days after the police published the image of the wanted man, a 22-year-old resident of Warsaw was informed about it by his friends and turned himself in to the police station. – He was charged on the same day. During his explanation, he admitted that his actions resulted from his desire to help his friend. For the crime he committed, he faces a penalty of three months to five years in prison, said staff aspirant Marta Haberska from the Mokotów police.
