From Saturday, June 4, the promenade on the Royal Route will lengthen. Nowy Świat, which is closed on weekends, will be joined by Nowy Świat – on the section from the de Gaulle roundabout to Świętokrzyska. Therefore, on Saturdays and Sundays, Warsaw Public Transport buses will take detours.

This year, from April 16, Krakowskie Przedmieście – from Miodowa to Świętokrzyska – every weekend it turns into a promenade for pedestrians and cyclists.

Now, as we read in the announcement of the city office, from Saturday, residents and tourists will be able to use the walking route extended by the Nowy Świat Street, and walkers will be able to cross the trail from the palm tree to the Sigismund’s Column without any obstacles.

Buses on detours – routes

For drivers, the crossing of Świętokrzyska Street through the intersection with Nowy Świat will be maintained at all times – without the possibility of turning. Concrete barriers will be set up at all inlets of the Royal Route.

Traffic shutdowns in Krakowskie Przedmieście and Nowy Świat will be introduced on each subsequent Friday to Saturday night. Basic traffic organization will be restored there on Mondays before dawn.

On weekends, buses on the Royal Route will be diverted (night lines from the night of June 3 to 4 to the night of October 23 to 24). The changes concern the lines: 106, 111, 116, 128, 175, 178, 180, 222, 503, 518 and N44.

Northbound pedestrian detour for the line 116, 180, 222, 503, 518 and night time N44 was marked out by the streets of Aleje Jerozolimskie, Marszałkowska, Królewska, Piłsudskiego Square, Focha to Moliera and Senatorska. In the other direction, buses of these lines will go through Wierzbowa, Piłsudski Square, Królewska, Marszałkowska, Al. Jerozolimskie, Bracka to pl. Of the Three Crosses (line N44 will turn from Marszałkowska to Świętokrzyska) and continue along the main routes. A line will run the detour in the same way 111which will return to pl. Piłsudski.

Coaches 128 and 175 to the pl loop. Piłsudskiego, from the Dmowskiego roundabout, they will go along Marszałkowska and Królewska streets, and in the opposite direction, Senatorska, Wierzbowa, through pl. Piłsudski, Królewska and Marszałkowska.

Lines 106 on the way to the Młynów loop, it will travel Świętokrzyska and Mazowiecka via pl. Małachowski to Królewska Street. On the way back from ul. Królewska will turn onto pl. S. Małachowski and to Mariensztat he will reach through Kredytowa, Jasna and Świętokrzyska Streets. The line buses will run similarly 178which will go in the direction of Konwiktorska Street from Królewska Street through pl. Piłsudskiego, ul. Foch to Molière, Senatorska and Miodowa. In the opposite direction, the line will run through Wierzbowa, pl. Piłsudskiego, Królewska Street, pl. Małachowski, Kredytowa, Jasna to Świętokrzyska.

Corpus Christi and the Polish Army Day

In addition, according to officials, the weekend after the Corpus Christi celebration and before the Polish Army Day, the Royal Route will become a promenade for longer. The buses will bypass Krakowskie Przedmieście and Nowy Świat from 16 to 19 June (night lines from the night of 15 to 16 June to the night of 19 to 20 June) and from 13 to 15 August (night lines from 12 to 13 August until the night of 15 August 16).

The weekend promenade will be available to use until October 23.
