The ramp will connect Ostrobramska and Kinowa streets. There will be a pedestrian and bicycle route there. Road workers announced a tender for construction. The selected contractor will have 24 weeks to complete the investment.
The Municipal Roads Authority announced a tender for the construction of a ramp at Przyczółek Grochowski. Offers can be submitted until November 4. The selected contractor will have 24 weeks from the date of signing the contract to build the slipway.
Where will the ramp be built?
The problematic connection between the northern side of Ostrobramska Street and Kinowa Street will change. “The simplest route leads through the stairs. Therefore, people with mobility disabilities have to take extra steps to avoid them. The ramp that will be built between Międzyborska and Rozłucka streets will be a response to these inconveniences,” assured the Municipal Roads Authority in a statement.
The slipway will be built on the north-eastern side of the local road junction, on the inner side of the slip road, enabling drivers driving along Aleja ONZ towards the Wiatraczna roundabout to reach Kinowa Street. “We will run a pedestrian and bicycle route on the ramp, which will also run along the viaduct. It will start at the existing underground passage – where the stairs will disappear – and will be connected to the viaduct in a place prepared as part of the reconstruction of the viaduct,” the road designers described.
As they added, a renovated sidewalk and a new bicycle path will lead to the viaduct from Kinowa Street, which will be connected to the existing roads and bicycle crossings in the area of Rozłucka Street. Along Ostrobramska Street, the new pedestrian and bicycle route will split into a sidewalk and a bicycle path, which will end with a crossing through Międzyborska Street.
The first tender was invalidated
The construction tender just announced is the second one. As reported by the Municipal Roads Authority, the first tender had to be canceleddue to too high offers.
The Grochowski bridgehead has already been renovated. During the reconstruction of the viaduct leading from Ostrobramska Street to Kinowa Street and Aleja ONZ, road workers renovated sidewalks, pedestrian and bicycle routes and stop platforms. “They have been raised to a level of 16 centimeters above the road to facilitate boarding the buses. We have also rebuilt the stairs on the northern side of the viaduct, adapting them to current standards,” they added.
They started this year too construction of a new pedestrian crossing including a bicycle crossing at the intersection of Ostrobramska Street with Grenadierów and Poligonowa Streets. “So far, pedestrians could only get to the other side of Ostrobramska Street at this point via a footbridge,” they clarified.
Plac Na Rozdrożu in a new version
This year they also ended works at Na Rozdrożu Squarelocated along Trasa Łazienkowska, of which Ostrobramska Street is an extension. “We built elevators to the stop platforms there and designated above-ground pedestrian crossings instead of underground ones. Thanks to this, everyone can now use the square without any problems,” noted the Municipal Roads Authority.
