On November 11, the Vistula River waterway in the Warsaw section will be closed. The reason is to ensure safety during the National Independence Day celebrations, according to the capital police.

According to the Warsaw Police Headquarters in a press release, due to the obligation to ensure safety during the Independence Day, people using the waterway on the Warsaw section may expect difficulties in water traffic.

On November 11, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., the Vistula waterway will be closed from the Łazienkowski Bridge to the Śląsko-Dąbrowski Bridge. This means that barges, boats, kayaks, etc. are not allowed on this section of the river.

Police officers from the River Police Station in Warsaw appeal for the observance of basic water safety rules. They remind you not to lean over the railing when crossing the bridge. They point out that despite the favorable autumn weather, the water in the river is cold and staying in the water may cause hypothermia and hypothermia.

“If you see a situation that threatens life, health, property or public order, call the emergency number 112,” the officers appeal.
