Warsaw. The well-known actor Piotr Z. will answer for insulting the spokeswoman of the Border Guard

In autumn, the trial of a well-known actor will start, who will be responsible for insulting the press secretary of the Commander-in-Chief of the Border Guard. Piotr Z. wrote in social media that he has “the face of bestial, bandit standards of the PiS state.”

In May last year, the Military Affairs Department of the District Prosecutor’s Office in Warsaw submitted an indictment against Piotr Z to the District Court in Warsaw Mokotów. The actor is accused of defaming and insulting the press secretary of the Commander-in-Chief of the Border Guard.

As previously reported by the District Prosecutor’s Office in Warsaw, Piotr Z. “did not plead guilty to the alleged act and provided a short explanation.”

“My words were not about the uniform, but were my opinion”

The well-known actor will answer to the court for the entry he posted in early November 2021 on Facebook. Z. published a photo of the Border Guard spokeswoman, Lt. Anna Michalska, which he described: “Mrs. ‘spokesman’ of the Border Guard, the face of the brutal, bandit standards of the PiS state.” After some time, he deleted his entry.

The Anti-Polonism Monitoring Center Foundation announced then that it would report the possibility of committing a crime in this case.

Piotr Z referred to this information in an interview with Plejada. “There is no insult there, I don’t think I committed any offense. I said that your spokesperson is the face of the authorities that conduct barbaric policies, and my words did not refer to the uniform. but they were my opinion regarding the attitude of this lady towards the media and citizens, “the actor explained in an interview with the portal.

The trial in this case is scheduled to start on October 6. For defamation and insulting an officer, an actor may be subject to a fine, restriction of liberty or imprisonment for up to one year.

The court discontinued a similar case

Recall that the actress Barbara Kurdej-Szatan was also charged with defamation of the Border Guard. The prosecutor’s office conducted proceedings against her because in a social media post she called the officers “machines without heart and brain, blindly following orders.”

However, the court discontinued the proceedings.
