A woman in crisis of homelessness died in a fire in a vacant building in Rembertów. The police determined that the building had been set on fire. The suspect was arrested in the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship.
In November, there was a fire in a vacant building in Rembertów. There were three people in the building: a woman and two men.
– As a result of this incident, the woman died in the hospital, but the men were saved. The cause of the fire was arson. According to the police, a young man who appeared in the vacant building was arguing and threatening to burn everyone. He set the fire. Unfortunately, none of the victims or witnesses knew this man or could say much about him, said Sub-Inspector Joanna Węgrzyniak from the Warsaw VII District Police Headquarters.
The suspect was detained in the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship
The police started searching for the suspect. They determined that the person responsible for the arson was a 31-year-old man who had no permanent place of residence and was not from Warsaw.
– The trail led the criminals to Busko-Zdrój. Police officers there were asked to help confirm some information. It turned out that Rembert's operational findings were accurate, the man went to his hometown for the holidays. Police officers from Busko detained a 31-year-old man, and criminal investigators from Rembertów took him over from them and performed the rest of the procedural activities at the police station, under the supervision of the Warsaw Praga-Południe District Prosecutor's Office, Węgrzyniak said.

The 31-year-old was charged with murdering a woman with intent and attempting to murder two other people.
– The prosecutor's office submitted a request to the court for temporary arrest. The court agreed to the request and the suspect was placed in pre-trial detention for three months, the policewoman concluded.
