Warsaw. Theft of a briefcase with over PLN 22,000. The police arrested the suspect

Police officers from Wawer worked on the theft of a briefcase with a large amount of money. They identified a suspect and observed him. The 36-year-old was arrested while checking the car in which he was traveling with friends.

Police officers from the criminal division of the police station at Mrówcza Street were looking for the perpetrator of the theft of a briefcase from the trunk of a car. There was over PLN 22,000 inside.

They obtained and verified information. – While carrying out another case, they reached the environment where the suspect was moving, confirmed several facts, secured the necessary evidence and established the man’s details – said Sub-Inspector Joanna Węgrzyniak from the Warsaw VII District Police Headquarters in a statement.

They started surveillance. The 36-year-old fell into the hands of police officers while inspecting a car in which he was traveling with friends as a passenger. – Together with him, a 34-year-old Georgian was detained, who in turn, as determined by the officers, committed another theft. It was about a purse with a thousand zlotys stolen in Targówek – added Węgrzyniak.

The 36-year-old was charged

The 34-year-old was taken care of by police officers from the Targówek police station. However, on the basis of the evidence collected in Wawer, the 36-year-old was charged with theft.

The District Prosecutor’s Office of Warsaw Praga-Południe applied to the court for the temporary detention of the suspect. The court granted the request and the 36-year-old was arrested for three months.

The proceedings in this case are being supervised by the Warsaw District Prosecutor’s Office Praga-Południe.
