A man stole money from a donation box at St. Anna. The city guards were informed about the case by the priest. He provided a description of the thief, and the officers gave chase.

In the afternoon, on Friday, July 14, a priest ran up to the guards patrolling the Old Town area, who informed that the church of St. Anna. The clergyman accurately described the thief he saw on the surveillance video and indicated the direction in which the man went after leaving the church.

The guards moved in the indicated direction and after a while they noticed a man matching the description. As indicated in the communiqué of the city guard, the officers called the man to stop, but he rushed to flee. At Zamkowy Square, after a short chase, the perpetrator was overpowered and captured.

The guards handed over the thief to the police. “In the man’s backpack, several men’s watches with bracelets, Polish and foreign currency banknotes (including dollars, euros) were found, as well as a special gripper with which the 45-year-old man took money out of the piggy bank” – added the city guard in a communiqué.
