For the first time in three years, the gastronomic gardens will not occupy one lane of the street of Plac Zbawiciela. Officials explain their decision by the accumulation of road difficulties in Śródmieście and Mokotów.

The information was first provided by activists from Miasto Jest Nasi. “We have received shocking information about one of the most important squares in the city. We are the first to give it. This year, there will be NO cafe gardens at Zbawiciela Square enlarged by a roadway,” the activists wrote in the social media.

“Wide concentration of impediments”

The information was confirmed by the Municipal Roads Authority. – Such a decision was made by the Traffic Management Office, as there is a wide concentration of obstacles in the area. Among other things, the detour associated with the construction of the tram to Wilanów runs right there – explained Mikołaj Pieńkos from ZDM.

He stressed that the restaurateurs themselves did not press on this matter. – They got permission to occupy parking spaces to expand their restaurant gardens. They report no problems, he added.

The City of Jest Our reminded that in recent years the garden zone started operating at the beginning of June and occupied one of the lanes of the roundabout located there. In 2020, when the pilot project was introduced, the gardens occupied the road from August.
