The trade unions reached an agreement with the management of Miejskie Zakłady Autobusowe. This means ending the collective dispute and abandoning any plans to start a strike. Drivers will receive raises, although they will not be as high as initially demanded.

The specter of a drivers’ strike had been hanging over MZA since last autumn, when drivers entered into a collective dispute with the company. A week ago, trade unions planned that a strike referendum would be held in August. It turned out, however, that they managed to get along with the management. – The dispute was closed through mediation with the participation of a mediator from the Ministry of Family and Social Policy. We have basically obtained two postulates that have been met, said the chairman of the Polish Drivers’ Trade Union at MZA, Adam Cebulski.

As he noted, the first postulate was fully met. – In the first round, we received a gross increase of PLN 300 plus PLN 1500 one-time compensation on average on a full-time basis – said Cebulski.

The second application of the trade unions was a PLN 500 gross increase plus compensation from January 2022. – Due to the difficult financial situation of the company and the city, we agreed. We will get a PLN 400 raise from August 1, and as compensation we have received the management board’s assurance for further talks about a wage increase from January 2023, in accordance with the new budget plan – explained Cebulski.

– I have to worry about my friends. They must work with dignity, earn with dignity, but they must also have a place to work – emphasized Cebulski.

The following participants of the collective dispute were: NSZZ “Solidarność” 80, WZZKRP, ZZKRP, NZZK and OZZKiM.
