City center police detained four people who, while returning from a drinking party, broke into one of the apartments in the center. This way, they wanted to extend the fun, they stole a few things and invited a friend.
Police officers from the Department for Combating Property Crime have been working on a case of an unusual burglary into one of the apartments on Żurawia Street since August. The officers' findings showed that the perpetrators, in addition to stealing various items from the premises, also organized a party there. The scene of the incident was thoroughly examined by a forensic technician who secured numerous traces. The apartment was devastated and ransacked.
– Criminal investigators quickly identified the perpetrators. One of the policemen recognized a participant of the “party” in the secured surveillance footage. The same police officers last year detained the same man as a person suspected of stealing a car from the parking lot of a shopping mall. The activities then ended with him being charged and provisionally arrested, said the spokesman for the downtown police, Junior Aspirant Jakub Pacyniak.

Police officers from the Department for Combating Property Crime also detained three Ukrainian citizens who – as they admitted – were returning from a disco and wanted to extend the party and decided to break into a random apartment on Żurawia Street. According to the police's findings, the premises were intended for short-term rental. The perpetrators first broke into the key box and used them to get inside.
– They had a several-hour drinking party in the apartment and even invited a guest. At the end of the event, they ransacked the premises, stealing, among other things, hairdryer and blanket. The invited woman was also detained and interrogated in this case. According to her account, she did not know that her friends had broken into the apartment before she arrived, to which she was finally invited, the policeman further pointed out.
A few days ago, criminals from the Department for Combating Property Crime detained a fourth man in this case, as the last person suspected in this case. He was hiding from law enforcement authorities.
– All detained men were charged with burglary and property damage. The court agreed to the request of the Warsaw-Śródmieście District Prosecutor's Office, imposing pre-trial arrest on four Ukrainian citizens for a period of three months. They may face up to 10 years in prison – summed up the younger aspirant Pacyniak.
The proceedings in this case are supervised by the Warsaw-Śródmieście District Prosecutor's Office.
