City center police detained a woman employed in a diamond and gold store. She was supposed to take the money for jewelry, gold bars or coins for herself. Her employers estimated the losses at PLN 600,000. – The 34-year-old is addicted to gambling and used to spend her money on bets. As she said, she believed until the end that she would get her revenge and that she would quickly settle accounts with her employer, says the spokesman for the downtown police.

According to the police, the woman had been regularly taking gold bars, gold coins and diamonds from work since November last year, which she “liquidated” at collection points.

– The 34-year-old admitted that she was addicted to gambling. With the hypothetical winnings, the woman intended to buy an apartment and quickly return the equivalent of the misappropriated property to her employer. However, it turned out differently. Month by month, the 34-year-old woman lost more money, until the company finally realized that there was no cash coverage for the items that the woman allegedly sold to her clients – says Robert Szumiata, spokesman for the downtown police.

The police detained the woman and charged her with misappropriating property of significant value and forging documents, which is punishable by up to 10 years in prison under the Penal Code.

At the request of the Warsaw Śródmieście District Prosecutor’s Office, the court has already decided to temporarily arrest the woman for three months.
