Warsaw. They want the nationalists' march to be a cyclical meeting, another request from the voivode

The Independence March Association turned to the Masovian Voivode, Mariusz Frankowski, with another request for consent to periodically organize a public meeting on November 11 in the years 2025-2027.

– Once again, we have submitted an application for the Masovian Voivode to consent to the Independence March having the status of a cyclical assembly – said Bartosz Malewski, president of the Independence March Association, at the conference on Thursday.

He recalled that until 2010 the march took place through the streets of the capital, and from 2014 – along exactly the same route from the Dmowski roundabout to the grounds of the National Stadium.

– We meet all statutory requirements to effectively seek the status of a cyclical assembly – he emphasized. He explained that the status of a cyclical assembly allows both the organizers and the services to prepare for such an event well in advance.

In recent years, the association has organized the Independence March in the form of cyclical meetings. Currently, it does not have consent to this form of assembly, because the Masovian Voivode issued two decisions refusing to grant the association the status of a cyclical assembly organized on November 11.

The voivode did not consent, the court confirmed

On February 8, 2024, the Court of Appeal in Warsaw issued a decision in which it annulled the decision of the District Court issued in the first instance. Let us remind you that at that time the court overturned the decision of the Masovian Voivode not to recognize the application to organize a cyclical march of nationalists.

This time, the Court of Appeal found that the voivode's decision was justified and the march of the nationalist community would not be a cyclical event. The decision, as the voivode informed, is final and Mariusz Frankowski's decision is final.

That decision concerned an application submitted by the “Independence March” association to the voivode for permission to organize cyclical meetings on November 11 in the capital. The association wanted to carry out demonstrations based on cyclicality in three consecutive years – 2024, 2025 and 2026.
