Hubert Kijek – our man on the moon – has been staying in the LunAres habitat since Thursday. For the next few days, the TVN24 BiS reporter will report on what life looks like in a simulation of the lunar environment. – It promises to be great fun, but also a lot of learning – Kijek promises.

Warsaw, this is the lunar base, the LunAres habitat. One would like to say “the eagle has landed”, because you can say that we are on the moon, but for now it is a simulation, because we are taking part in an analog lunar mission – with these words Hubert Kijek, TVN24 BiS journalist, greeted us on the first day of his experiment.

In a closed environment

Our envoy for the mission in the habitat promised to tell us how to control the rover and how the freeze-dried food that astronauts eat in space conditions tastes like.

– We will also talk about the past, because such missions have been organized for 50 years – since the first satellite was launched – said Kijek.

However, the lunar base is not only “playing” with equipment or food, but also a new, alien and closed environment.

– We will be isolated from the world, no news, no contact with loved ones. I can only rely on a crew of six. I’ll have to live with them somehow. And I’ve heard that on a third of such expeditions there are some small quarrels. We’ll see, Kiek said.

What emotions accompany our journalist at this moment? Extremely positive.

“It promises to be great fun, but also a lot of learning,” he concluded.

What challenges will Hubert Kijek face during the LunAres mission? We will follow the course of his visit to the “extraterrestrial” base in the series “Our Man on the Moon” on TVN24 BiS and tvnmeteo.pl.
