Warsaw. Thunderstorms with downpour pass over the city

On Sunday before noon, Warsaw was in the zone of storms and heavy rainfall. It rains in Mokotów and Ochota.

IMGW has issued weather warnings. Yellow thunderstorm alerts are in effect for parts of the country. Up to 30 liters of water per square meter can fall in places.

Forecasters from the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management (IMGW) issued first degree warnings. Warnings against thunderstorms with hail are in force in the following voivodeships: – Warmińsko-Mazurskie (in poviats located in the west of the region), Mazowieckie (excluding eastern poviats), Kujawsko-Pomorskie (in Rypin and Brodnica poviats), Łódzkie (in eastern poviats), Świętokrzyskie ( excluding the poviats located in the south-west), Lubelskie (in the western poviats), Małopolskie (in the southern and eastern poviats), Podkarpackie (excluding the Lubaczów poviat).

In some places, storms are accompanied by rainfall with a total of about 20 liters of water per square meter, and locally up to about 30 liters per square meter. The wind will gust up to 60 kilometers per hour.

In Warsaw, the residents of the left-bank part of the city are mainly affected by heavy rainfall. Heavy rain fell, among others, in Mokotów and Ochota.

Alerts will be valid from 12-8pm on Sunday.
