This includes: o removing collisions with underground infrastructure. – This will involve the occupation of the road at certain points – noted Dutkiewicz.

– Also in June, we have planned to implement temporary traffic organization at the intersection of Puławska and Rakowiecka. I would like to remind you that as part of the reconstruction of the tracks on Puławska Street, we have prepared turns and turnouts on Rakowiecka Street – added the representative of the tram operators.

The last tram passed here was in 1967

The tracks on this street will run on its northern side and will occupy part of the current road. Drivers will have access to a two-way road approximately six meters wide on the southern side. The works will also include the reconstruction and construction of street lighting and power supply. Four new stops will be built. The tracks on Rakowiecka Street will be planted with sedum.

Moreover, the new route will require the trams to be powered by electricity and therefore the traction substation at Wiśniowa will be modernized. The underground infrastructure, such as electrical installations, gas network, water supply and sewage system, will also be rebuilt.

As in the case of the tram route in Sielka completed last week along Goworka, Spacerowa and Gagarina streets, trams used to run on this section of Rakowiecka as well. The tracks also ran along the northern part of the street. They existed between 1927 and 1967. Then five tram lines running on Rakowiecka Street on this section were replaced by buses.

Work begins in Ochota in the summer

The track on Rakowiecka Street is a part of a huge investment, i.e. a tram line that will connect Wola with Wilanów. Last week, the president of Tramwaje Warszawskie, Wojciech Bartelski, announced that preliminary works on the construction of a section of the line connecting Ochota with the Western Railway Station will begin in the summer. He noted that initially it would involve the reconstruction of the heat pipeline along Bitwy Warszawskiej 1920 Street. – We will do it partly this year and partly next year – he said.

In the case of Grójecka Street and Aleje Jerozolimskie, which will be crossed by the new line, traffic disruptions will begin next year. – Pursuant to the contract, the contractor is obliged to maintain the continuity of traffic on Bitwy Warszawskiej Street – probably one lane – and maintain the 2×3 layout in Aleje Jerozolimskie – said Bartelski. He noted that he cannot guarantee that the lanes will be the same width as currently.

At the same time, designing and obtaining documentation for construction of tracks along Rostafińskie and Boboli streets in the immediate vicinity of Pole Mokotowskie. The tracks will connect the existing track at the intersection of Rakowiecka and Boboli Street with the loop at Banacha. The preliminary plan assumes the construction of this part of the route by 2029.
