Border Guard officers detained two foreigners at the Chopin airport. They were wanted on European Arrest Warrants. A Romanian by a Portuguese court and a Croat by the Finns.

Last weekend, officers from the Warsaw-Okęcie Border Guard Post detained two foreigners wanted by European Arrest Warrants. – The first arrest took place on Friday in the Non-Schengen transit zone of Chopin Airport – said the spokeswoman for the commandant of the Nadwiślański Border Guard Unit, Dagmara Bielec.

– During the identification and then border checks, it was established that the data of a 33-year-old Romanian citizen are in the systems as a person wanted by the European Arrest Warrant issued by the Portuguese authorities for crimes against public order. At the time of her arrest, the woman was in transit deportation from New York via Warsaw to Bucharest, explained the captain.

After the arrest, the 33-year-old was taken to the District Prosecutor’s Office in Warsaw, and then, by a court decision, she was placed in one of the capital’s detention centers.

The Croatian is suspected of fraud

Another person detained on Sunday by Border Guard officers was a 28-year-old Croatian. – After arriving from Bergamo, the man was checked in and then detained – his data was in the SIS database as a person wanted under the European Arrest Warrant issued by the Finnish justice system for arrest and transfer or extradition – she reported.

– The man is suspected of numerous frauds. On Monday, the foreigner will be transported to the District Prosecutor’s Office in Warsaw for further activities with his participation, added the spokeswoman of the commandant of the Nadwiślański Border Guard Unit.
