Road workers installed the first speed bumps on Woronicza Street, where a tragic accident occurred on August 13, in which two women died. The changes were implemented two weeks after the tragedy. Although it had been known for years that it was very dangerous there.

Last week, the mayor of Warsaw Rafał Trzaskowski announced that temporary solutions will be implementedimproving safety at the ill-fated crossing. The ultimate goal is to rebuild this section of Woronicza Street.

A few days ago, Jakub Dybalski, spokesman for the Municipal Roads Authority in Warsaw, informed our editorial office that the new traffic organization has already been implemented. approved at the town hall. Drivers can already see the first speed bumps in this place. No one will drive fast here anymore.

Two people died

Let us recall: the accident after which the residents waited until the changes occurred on August 13. The driver of a passenger car drove into a bus stop bus on Woronicza Street. Two women died, three people were hospitalized, including a 3.5-year-old child.

The man who was driving the car was charged with causing a land traffic disaster that resulted in the death of two people. The court agreed with the prosecutor's request and imposed a three-month detention on the man.

Witnesses to the accident spoke of high speed, at which the driver was supposed to be driving. According to one of them, he could have been driving 70, 80 kilometers per hour, or maybe “even a hundred.” Local residents complained that cars often drive fast in this place, creating a hazard.
