Procedures are underway related to the opening of the underground parking lot at 420 places under the Warsaw Powstańców Square. The announced deadline for commissioning the object has already been exceeded. A company that will manage a garage declares that it will be opened within two weeks.

The underground garage at Powstańców Warsaw is ready. However, the expected deadline for putting it into use has already been exceeded. The town hall announced that drivers would enter the parking lot at the turn of February and March.

– The inspections have ended and the object obtained the use permit from the Poviat Building Supervision Inspector. We have received as -built documentation, it is also necessary to accept the takeover of the object by the city and complement the formalities associated with it – informed us Tomasz Kunert, spokesman for the City Transport Board.

“Opening within two weeks”

In the case of the possible opening date of the Kunert car park, he sent us to the concessionaire, i.e. Immo Park Warsaw, belonging to Mota-Engil Central Europe

According to Wojciech Styliński, technical director of IMMO Park Warsaw, he issued a final permission to use the PINB car park on February 21. – At present, final acceptance procedures with individual offices representing the concessionor (city – ed.), I.e. the City Transport Board, Municipal Roads, Road Traffic Management Office and others are underway – Styliński pointed out.

For now, the Company does not provide a specific date of commissioning the underground garage for use. – We are counting on the opening of the parking lot during the upcoming two weeks – said Styliński.

Neither the city nor the concessionaire explained where the delay shows.

The first two weeks for free

On four floors under the square there will be 420 parking spaces, of which 63 were reserved for local residents. The facility is equipped with chargers for electric cars and a public toilet. This is the first underground garage built as part of a public-private partnership (concession formula). It was made by the previously mentioned Immo Park Warszawa company. For the next 36 years he is to manage the parking lot and earn on it. After this time, the object will be handed over to the city.

How much will you have to pay for parking at Powstańców Warszawy Plac? The parking hour is to cost 7.50 zlotys. The monthly subscription for residents will be PLN 550 (parking from 19-8) and PLN 800 (24-hour parking). For other customers, respectively: PLN 650 and PLN 950.

– In the period of two weeks from the opening of the parking lot, the concessionaire will invite drivers to park completely free of charge – announced Wojciech Styliński.

Green will come back next year

In the autumn of 2022, 24 trees disappeared from the Warsaw Powstańców Square, which collided with construction works. They were secured and taken to Prague, where they were planted again. Green Board of the Capital City of Warsaw plans to plant 58 trees and 800 shrubs. This year a tender is to be announced. Completion of work on greenery is planned for spring 2026.
