The soldiers of the NATO Multinational Battle Group in Orzysz, led by the US Army, commemorated the heroes of the Warsaw Uprising. On the occasion of the 77th anniversary of the Uprising, they published a special film.

The Warsaw Uprising was the largest underground military operation in German-occupied Europe. It was planned for a few days, it lasted for 63 days. Its purpose was to liberate the capital from German occupation, under which it had been located since September 1939.

On August 1, 1944, by order of the Commander-in-Chief of the Home Army, General Tadeusz Komorowski “Bor”, 40-50 thousand young men and women stood up to fight for freedom. On this day, as every year, Warsaw residents will commemorate their heroic struggle.

NATO soldiers pay tribute to the Warsaw insurgents

The soldiers of the NATO Multinational Battle Group in Orzysz, led by the US Army, also paid tribute to the heroes of the Warsaw Uprising. The video recorded by the soldiers on this occasion was made available by the American Embassy in Warsaw on its Twitter profile.
