Warsaw, Ursynów. Almost 4 thousand doses of mephedrone in a rented house, two people arrested

Police have detained two Moldovan citizens suspected of producing and introducing significant amounts of narcotics into circulation. Nearly 4 thousand doses of mephedrone were seized from the house in Ursynów, which was occupied by the detainees.

As reported by Deputy Commissioner Ewa Kołdys from the Warsaw II District Police Headquarters, the house was rented and the owner had no idea what was going on under his roof.

– After arriving at the scene, the police secured the area. Various sounds were coming from the building, but no one opened the door. When the officers forced the entrance, it turned out that two Moldovan citizens, aged 20 and 22, were hiding in the premises. The entrance was filled with the suffocating stench of chemicals stored in plastic cans and containers – described Kołdys.

Officers secured drug-making equipment and ready-made mephedrone in the amount of at least 3,870 portions, as initially estimated. – The findings indicate that the men operated in an organized criminal group – explained Ewa Kołdys.

Charges and arrest

The detained men were charged with producing significant amounts of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances and introducing them into circulation.

– Confiscated containers, vessels, devices and laboratory equipment were secured for further analysis. The fire department secured the place against possible spontaneous combustion due to the high concentration of chemicals. The substances were sent for laboratory tests – Kołdys said.

Detained at the request of the prosecutor's office, by court decision they were arrested for three months. They face up to 20 years in prison. The police do not rule out further arrests in this case.
