Warsaw, Ursynów. Fire on Gawota: domestic animals died

A fire broke out in a block of flats at Gawota Street in Ursynów. The police evacuated residents from the building, and firefighters removed a dog and three cats from a burning apartment. Unfortunately, it was not possible to save them.

Before 8, firefighters received a notification about a fire in the apartment on the first floor in the building at 6 Gawota Street in Ursynów. Two fire brigades from Ursynów and additional forces from other units went to the site.


As described by firefighters in their social media, after reaching the place, they found a fire developed and the flames of the fire were coming out of the window. They got to the premises by two ways: through the window and through the door. At that time, the police evacuated the residents.

– In total, eight people were evacuated from the block. There were no people in the apartment under fire, but there were pets. Unfortunately, the German Shepherd and three cats were not saved, informed Michał Konopka from the Warsaw fire brigade.
