The second place was taken by Mazowieckie Voivodeship (1130), and the Podlaskie Voivodeship (572).

– These are the provinces where we have the most new infections. It also has consequences such that more and more patients go to hospitals and this situation is becoming serious. After talking to voivodes, we are systematically increasing the bed base, especially in these three voivodships. In Mazowieckie, we will be opening two more temporary hospitals in the coming days – the hospital in Ostrołęka and the MON hospital in Okęcie, but we will also launch additional 62 covid beds in the provincial Infectious Hospital in Warsaw – Deputy Minister of Health Waldemar Kraska said on Tuesday.

The military hospital in the hangar of the 1st Transport Aviation Base of the Polish Army in Okęcie also functioned during the previous wave of infections. Initially, it was supposed to open in November 2020, however, it did not succeed and it finally opened in March 2021.
