tvnwarszawa.pl reporter Tomasz Zieliński found out that on Wednesday evening the police detained a man in Niepodległości Avenue. It turned out to be a driver who started running away when he saw the officers and hit other cars stopped at the traffic lights.
Zieliński reported that the incident took place on Niepodległości Avenue, near Domaniewska Street. – The detained man was handcuffed – he said.
It moved off and hit other vehicles
We asked about the incident at the Metropolitan Police Headquarters. – Preliminary findings show that around 6:20 p.m. in Niepodległości Avenue, police officers from the Criminal Department of the Warsaw II District Police Headquarters based in Mokotów decided to intervene against a man sitting in a Ford car. The driver started moving when he saw the officers approaching him, but he hit other vehicles waiting for the traffic lights to change, Bartłomiej Śniadała from the press team of the Warsaw Police Headquarters described in an interview with tvnwarszawa.pl.
He added that the man was detained by police officers of the Criminal Division of the National Police Headquarters II. Police officers from the Road Traffic Department are also working on site.
For now, it is not known what caused the driver to escape and whether he was sober.
