On Monday, road workers will begin renovation of the tracks on Filtrowa Street – tram drivers will replace the rails and build drainage. On the same day, the replacement of the surface on the next part of the right lane of Grochowska Street will begin. There will be disruptions for drivers and passengers of public transport.

As officials remind us, the works on Filtrowa are part of the announced renovation program of Warsaw Trams. Works on this street will include not only the replacement of worn rails, but also the construction of drainage.

“Thanks to this, the tracks will no longer be flooded after heavy rains. Taking advantage of the traffic shutdown, workers will also replace the rails at the intersections of Krzywicki, Nowowiejska and Filtrowa,” the town hall says in a press release.

The works will last from Monday, May 20, from 6:00 a.m. until the end of June. During this time, one direction of traffic will be introduced between Raszyńska and Mianowskiego – only towards Grójecka. The detour in the other direction will lead through Wawelska and Krzywicki or Niemcewicza and Raszyńska streets.

During the renovation, the following tram lines will run differently: 15, 33, 35 and 36. Replacement buses will be on the route Z15which will go from Narutowicza Square: Grójecka, Niemcewicza, Raszyńska, Filtrowa, Nowowiejska to Aleja Niepodległości, and return via Krzywicki, Wawelska and Filtrowa.

Works on Grochowska Street

Warsaw road workers are also returning to Grochowska Street.

From Monday, May 20, to Wednesday, May 23, they will renovate the right lane towards Marsa Street, between the Wiatraczna roundabout loop and Majdańska Street. The work was divided into stages – at night and during the day. Between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m., workers will occupy two lanes of the road towards Mars. In turn, from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m., only one lane will be separated, and drivers will use two lanes. Officials assure in a press release that this will facilitate travel during the morning and afternoon traffic peaks.
