Warsaw. You can now apply for an artistic scholarship m.st. of Warsaw

From August 1, you can apply for the Warsaw Art Scholarship for 2024. “Applications can be submitted by both people with creative achievements and debutants. There are over two million zlotys to be divided” – informs the capital city hall. Creators can implement their projects in eight areas: film, literature, music, preservation of monuments, dance, theatre, visual arts and design, and the dissemination of culture.

– Warsaw has been attracting and inspiring artists for years, but also supports them financially – this year will be no different. On August 1, we start the call for applications for artistic scholarships of the capital city of Warsaw, for which artists from the capital city can apply. So far, our scholarship recipients have included Wojciech Blecharz, Dorota Masłowska, Justyna Bargielska and Kamila Janiak. Warsaw art scholarships are not only about money, because we also support our artists in gaining new contacts and cooperation with cultural institutions. I encourage you to apply, because this time we have over two million zlotys to distribute – Aldona Machnowska-Góra, Deputy Mayor of Warsaw, encourages you to submit applications in the communication on this subject.

The scholarship is awarded for a year or six months, and its amount is currently PLN 3,800 (gross) per month. The call for applications will start on August 1 and will last until September 15. Applications will be accepted via the application form on the website www.stypendia.um.warszawa.pl. There you can also find the most important information about the recruitment.

They have already distributed PLN 16 million

Since 2009, when the capital city started granting artistic scholarships, 538 people have received funding for a total amount of over PLN 16 million. Thanks to Warsaw’s financial support, artists can carry out their projects in eight areas: film, literature, music, preservation of monuments, dance, theatre, visual arts and design, and popularization of culture.

Warsaw appreciates interesting ideas and a creative approach to art. The most promising and original scholarship holders can count on financial support for the projects they want to implement. The city also organizes meetings during which artists have a chance to meet representatives of cultural institutions and other grant recipients.

The achievements of artists from previous years can be found on the website: scholarshipswarszawy.dwutygodnik.com. This is a database of biographies of artists who were awarded artistic scholarships by Warsaw.
