Watch out for false ID cards from the MOBKITRA State Application

A few seconds and it's ready. Thanks to the MOBKitan application, we can show your ID card via a smartphone, which, however, can create a field for fraud.

– I think that it is not possible to distinguish the fake from the original “by eye” – says Marcin Kostecki from the Demagog Association.

And he met with such situations. It is about the sale of fakes of the government's application on the Internet.

– I came across Mddhoda accidentally, whether I heard from my former students from the primary school in which I once worked, it shows that it must be very widespread and it is not difficult to come across it – says Marcin Kostecki, head of the political fact -locking department in the demagogue .

The largest groups interested in a false mobile gathered up to several thousand people.

– These offers I met were most often addressed to people under 18, people who would be interested in buying alcohol, tobacco, everything that is not available to minors, but adults certainly also use – adds Kostecki.

There is no doubt that when checking the proof, for example, verifying the age of the customer in the store, you should be particularly careful. There are specific ways to distinguish a fake from the original.

– Even if we see on someone's document a waving flag, a changing color of the hologram, it is absolutely not enough evidence that someone presents us with a real Mdowod – explains Piotr Konieczny from the company Trzędznik.pl.

The matter is serious, because reworking a document or using a fake is simply a crime.

– The use of a false document, evidence for which there is a fine, the penalty of restriction of liberty or imprisonment of up to 5 years – says asp. Monika Starzdlska from the Central Bureau of Cybercrime.

– If someone pulls an application, or draws some graphics, or generates a photo and will serve it, it is the same punishment, that is, we are dealing with a crime and it is clear to say it – adds Krzysztof Gawkowski, deputy prime minister and minister digitization.

The Ministry of Digitization has prepared special recommendations. Specifies three methods: visual, functional and using QR code. Experts have no illusions that the latter is the most effective.

– With the help of such an operation, i.e. when a person has such an e -proxle, he must scan the generated QR code by a person who verifies identity, may be sure as a result of such scanning whether such a shown document is authentic – explains Piotr Konieczny.

However, the problem is that still few people know how effective and this is immediately checking the document in this way.

– It is best to set up the worst and eliminate yourself, that is, we all as a society, that such things should be verified with the help of strong cryptographic mechanisms, and not just showing oh, it is and I am like this person – says Mateusz Chrobok, a cyber security expert.

Which is especially important in the election year.

– We will recommend, among others, the State Electoral Commission to introduce such solutions that will allow you to check the evidence using such QR code – says Gawkowski.

Recognizing the problem is the basis, but with such threats as false identity documents, specific actions are necessary.

– We are at this point of history, when it is worth everyone to use the verifier and it is worth to become a natural check, because we will eliminate those who use such fakes – adds Chrobok.
