Luca Orellano – it's worth remembering the name of this footballer. The young Argentine striker showed incredible skills in the 27th round of the MLS in the Eastern Conference. His Cincinnati won at home against CF Montreal 4:1. Orellano became one of the heroes of the match. He scored two goals, one of them in a fabulous style.
MLS Goal of the Season? Orellano's brilliant strike. “This goal will go down in history”
An unprecedented situation occurred in the second half when the score was 2:0 for Cincinnati. In the 57th minute, the referee awarded a free kick and Orellano approached the ball. The Argentine looked at how Jonathan Sirois was positioned and decided to take a shot from the middle of his own half of the pitch. The shot was so precise that, to everyone's surprise, it landed in the goal. “What a spectacular goal. This hit will go down in the history books,” commentators were excited.
It is very possible that in a few months Orellano will receive the award for the best goal of the season. It was the second goal of the match for the 24-year-old. The first was scored four minutes earlier.
The Argentine's two goals were not the only ones scored in the second half. In the 71st minute, Cincinnati's lead was increased by Brazilian Sergio Santos. And nine minutes before the end of regulation time, Montreal's striker Kwadwo Opoku made it 4-1. Earlier – in the first half – Kevin Kelsy had scored.
Orellano joined Cincinnati in late February on loan until the end of 2024. Since then, he has played in 26 games in total, scoring seven goals and providing four assists.
After 27 games played, Cincinnati is in second place (51 points), just behind Inter Miami (59 points). CF Montreal is in 12th place (27 points).
